The world we live in today is chaotic, crazy and seems to get more hectic every day!

Technology, social media…. our devices can make life overwhelming. Going back to basics through simplifying our life is one of the ways we can empower ourselves and not get caught up in the rat race. Easier said than done. A big challenge for me!

I am Georgia and it was my 11-year-old daughter Shobha-Rose that inspired me to start Back to Basics.

As a parent help on a school trip to tidy up a beach in Auckland, we were all surprised at the amount of plastic garbage that we found on our beautiful beach. Every walk on a beach would end up with us picking up plastic garbage. Our family became Eco Warriors and we decided to do something! So I started on my new venture to replacing, “the convenient but destructive plastic bag”

At Back to Basics we make and design fun, quirky yet eco-friendly and practical bags. We also have added to our collection: copper bottles and stainless-steel lunch boxes. We are able to custom design bags- from the structure of the bag as well as your own print. This can include your company logo and is a great way for branding and spreading the right message.

Why sacrifice the health of our planet for a disposable plastic bag or bottle?

Small, simple, inexpensive lifestyle changes that we can make to be more responsible consumers.

We believe in making things to last. It's better for the environment and it makes people happy too. Our products are sustainably sourced, eco-friendly and are also reusable and will serve you for many years.

Cotton & Jute are biodegradable, so even when you choose to bin the bag, you will not be adding to the carbon footprint.

All our products are sourced from ethical manufacturers who believe in principles of social accountability and follow ethical business practices. No child labour. Fair wages and working conditions. SEDEX certified (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange). AZO free direct dyes according to EU standards are used for printing.

We are proud of our products.

We use them, we love them, and we want to share them with everyone.

We are Eco Warriors!
